PACIFIC ASIA TRAVEL ASSOCIATION UK LAUNCHES PRESS CLUB

The UK branch of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched a press club.

PATA represents the interests of, and promotes, one of the world’s most fascinating and diverse travel regions. In the UK, membership includes around 80 airlines, national and regional tourist offices, hotel groups and tour operators (both direct and wholesale) as well as more than 1450 UK travel agents.

Ian Hawkes, executive director of the PATA UK Chapter, says:

“We want to make access to the latest information as simple as possible for those members of the press who cover this part of the world.

“Our members are immersed in the countries they represent, with access to information, breaking news, comment and analysis – all designed to help journalists with a news story, feature idea, press trip or general research.

“So if, as a travel writer, you want to know about the latest hotel openings in Phuket, eco-tourism initiatives in Laos, travel trends to Australia and New Zealand, or wedding packages in the Indian Ocean, then PATA UK can help.”

Journalists wishing to sign-up for the free service should go to www.pata.org.uk, click on the “new member” section and register using the “accredited travel journalist” category.
