BOOT CAMP COMES TO SEVENOAKS LEISURE CENTRE

Boot Camp comes to Sevenoaks later this month in the form of a new weekly class at the town’s leisure centre. And for the dedicated it promises results and, more than likely, some fun on route.

Building on the success of an already established fitness programme and inspired by the growing success across the country of British Military Fitness, the idea is to offer a fast-paced one-hour workout best suited to the needs of those who probably have an existing level of physical fitness.

“This will be a thorough workout, ideal for those who have a current exercise regime or who are involved in a sport and want to take their training up a level,” says Lee Fincham, Sevenoaks Leisure Centre fitness manager.

“We will be working hard with minimal rest periods – the aim being to burn calories, tone-up and encourage a greater all-round standard of fitness. The emphasis will be on interval training (bursts of high-intensity work) and we will be using activities such as skipping and timed shuttle runs rather than relying on typical gym and exercise equipment.”

For the first three weeks Sevenoaks Leisure Centre is encouraging people to try Boot Camp with a friend with a buy-one-get-one-free introductory offer. Full details are available in the centre.

Boot Camp launches at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 pm from February 23. The sessions cost £5.10 (member/card holder) and £6.45 (non member/non card holder).
