Sevenoaks Leisure Centre and Wilderness Sports Centre have unveiled plans for their annual programme of sports, games, activities and pursuits spanning the school summer holiday.
Organised by Sencio Community Leisure, the five-week calendar of events aims to offer something to engage and inspire every youngster regardless of whether their interests lie in the sporting and active or the creative and artistic.
Sevenoaks Leisure Centre’s nationally recognised swimming teaching scheme takes pride of place in a sports coaching programme that also includes diving, trampolining and non-contact boxing, while across town Wildernesse Sports Centre welcomes back Charlton Athletic’s respected football in the community programme and will also be hosting squash sessions for six to 17 year olds.
Elsewhere, there are drama, ballet, hip hop jazz and musical theatre sessions, pottery workshops and visits from Mr Topples Punch & Judy and the ever-popular Creepy Crawlie Show in which children can come face-to-face with a weird and wonderful collection of insects, reptiles and snakes.
The under-fives get their own sessions with the emphasis on soft play, toddler gymnastics and Mini Dribblers sessions for aspiring footballers and, for any youngster interested in trying their hand at golf, Sencio’s Lullingstone Park Golf Course is offering tuition as part of its junior development programme.
