NR-GIZE YOUR SUMMER AT BLACKHURST LANE SPORTS CENTRE

Blackhurst Lane Sports Centre has unveiled its summer holiday calendar of events.
Organised by Sencio Community Leisure, the NR-gize programme aims to ensure the Tunbridge Wells facility hosts a mix of activities that are sporting, performance and education based and which cater for children ranging in age from pre-school to 15.
For the sporty there are circuit training sessions specially created for eight to 15 year olds, a programme of athletics designed to provide an introduction to the core skills and techniques required and used in disciplines such as running, jumping and throwing, and two multi-sports sessions in which participants can try their hand at basketball, badminton, football and kwik cricket.
Budding Jenson Buttons and Lewis Hamiltons can take to a racetrack and have a go behind the wheel in electric karts in a safe and fully-supervised setting, the urban craze of street dance will be showcased, and a Creepy Crawlie Show will give an assembled audience the chance to come face-to-face with a weird and wonderful collection of insects, reptiles and snakes.
Younger children are also catered for with soft play for the under fives and there will be six Ruggerbugs sessions – the award-winning sports development programme for pre-schoolers that is based around non-contact rugby and which enhances a child’s basic motor skills and is recognised as beneficial in assisting with early years development.
