THE UK’S LEADING INTERACTIVE COMPUTER FITNESS GAMES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE SHOWCASED IN EDENBRIDGE
Youngsters in Edenbridge are to get a chance later this month to try some state-of-the-art computer games designed to encourage their involvement in physical activity.
Offered by the town’s leisure centre and Sencio Community Leisure as part of its NRGize summer holiday calendar, the NRGize Max programme on July 28 will feature two two-hour sessions in which young people can try the latest generation of Dance Mats. The concept allows up to 12 players to follow a series of instructions displayed on a large screen and challenges participants to improve their general fitness by replicating specified moves on individual touch sensitive mats.
Also in action at Edenbridge Leisure Centre on the day will be an interactive Sportwall, an eight foot by four foot panel that combines the fun of a computer game and a powerful cardio-vascular workout with the aim of developing excellent ball tracking skills, quick hands, fast feet and superior hand to eye co-ordination
The sessions are being staged in partnership with Zig Zag Fun and Fitness – one of the UK’s leading suppliers of innovative products created to encourage the country’s youth to become more active.
Colin Hunwick, Sencio Community Leisure’s sports development officer, says: “We all know there is much more we need to do as a country to engage our youngsters in physical activity so what better way to inspire them than to offer the principles of fitness through a series of imaginative and engaging interactive computer games.”
